Europe’s move toward electric mobility just picked up speed. On June 24, 2025, BearingPoint and SAP announced a joint cloud-based platform designed to make managing electric vehicle fleets simpler, smarter, and more connected across the continent.

For many fleet operators, going electric has been a logistical headache. Vehicle data, charging schedules, billing, and emissions reports often live in separate systems, creating inefficiencies and extra costs. The new platform brings these functions together in one cloud environment, giving managers a single dashboard to track performance, schedule charging, and manage payments.

“This platform enables operators to make data-driven decisions that improve efficiency, cost control, and sustainability,” said Nina London, Partner at BearingPoint. “By uniting vehicles, energy, and infrastructure in the cloud, we are helping organizations accelerate their path to zero-emission mobility.”

Built on SAP’s cloud technology, the system promises enterprise-level capabilities for fleets of all sizes. Smaller operators can now access tools that were once the domain of major logistics players. The move comes as Europe tightens emissions rules and invests heavily in charging infrastructure, raising the stakes for companies seeking to keep up.

The platform’s real-time data insights allow fleets to optimize routes, cut idle time, and stay compliant with evolving sustainability standards. It also supports transparent carbon reporting, which is increasingly vital as regulators and customers demand proof of progress.

There are still hurdles ahead, particularly around cybersecurity and integrating older systems. But industry observers say the benefits of a unified digital approach outweigh the risks, setting the stage for a more connected transport ecosystem.

As BearingPoint and SAP’s partnership gains traction, Europe’s electrification journey looks less like a switch to new vehicles and more like the birth of an intelligent mobility network, one powered by data as much as by electricity.
